Limavady Progeny Show 2018
Another super entry of Bluefaced Leicesters and Mules were presented at the annual Northern Irelaqnd Region progeny show on behalf of the Bluefaced Leicester Sheep Breeders' Association. Clark Lamont had the difficult task of judging the event this year at the new venue of Limavady Show. Clark awarded Champion to his first prize gimmer, a very stylish modern sheep by H1 Cottage brought out by J Adams & Sons, Holmview flock. G & J Loughery, Temain were awarded Reserve Champion with their 1st prize aged tup J7 Hamildean.
On to the progeny classes and J Adams & Sons, Holmview again came out on top taking Champion progeny group with J1 Carryhouse and his three quality gimmers. Michelle Wright, Mullaghwee is never far from the limelight at the progeny show and this year was awarded Reserve Champion group with her pair of lambs by J2 Dawyck.
On to the Mule section and this year G & J Loughery, Temain were awarded Champion and Reserve Champion in the individual classes with their 1st and 2nd prize ewe lambs. The Mule progeny Champion group was awarded to G & J Loughery, Temain for J7 Hamildean and his three Mule ewe lambs. Michelle Wright, Mullaghwee was awarded Reserve Champion Mule progeny group with K17 Drummuck and his three ewe lambs.
Billy Liken, aged 7 from Ringsend, Coleraine won the Bluefaced Leicester Young Handler this year. Many thanks to all exhibitors and to Clark Lamont who had a very long day judging from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
