Ballybofey & Stranolar

On Saturday past we held our second sale of the season in Ballybofey & Stranorlar Co-operative Livestock Mart. Tremendous turn out of stock from the members of the club, Credit to all. Our judge on the the day was Robert Gault of the Carnlea flock. A thank you to Robert on a tough job.

Robert found his overall champion of the day in the pen of kieran & Patrick McGrath of the Caoramor Crossing Leicesters. A super ram lamb who won his class also. He is got by S004 Tievebuaile and out of Aughafoy breed ewe. The lamb topped the price of the day at €2150 selling to Violet & Paul McHugh of the Donegal Mule Group.
Robert also found his reserve champion in the Caoramor pen.

In the aged & shearling class Robert found his class champion in Declan Cullen’s Derryvarogue BlueFaced Leicester’s pen. Got by the R009 Drummuck and a P051 Firmount breed dam.

Ram lambs sold to an average of €600 with 45 sold.
1st: lot 37 Caoramor flock overall champion
2nd: lot 39 Caoramor reserve champion.
3rd: lot 19 Drinane Flock.

Aged& Shearling sold to an average of €610 with 6 sold.
1st: lot 6 Derryvarogue flock.
2nd: lot 3 Killydesert flock.
3rd: lot 5 Derryvarogue.
