Mr Adam McConnell, Doon The Glen Flock, made the journey from his home in Glenarm, Ballymena to take on the judging duties this year
With some strong classes forward Adam found his champion in the ram lamb pen of Robbie Topping, Rocklynn, this was a homebred lamb 5224/V009. This cocky lamb caught the attention of the Judge as soon as he entered the show ring. This lamb is filled with crossing blood sired by Drummuck 4367/T001 out of a Temain bred ewe 4342/N035 going back to Cottage and Yore House breeding in the grand sire lines, Michelle Wright, Mullaghwee was the lucky lady at the fall of the gavel taking this lamb home in a half share with William Adams, Holmview paying 1420gns.
Reserve overall champion was awarded to the 2nd prize ram lamb brought out by Alistair Christie, The Fields this was for homebred lamb 3634/V013, sired by Mistyburn 4691/S006 going back to Carry House Ronaldo and out of a homebred ewe The Fields 3634/R076, he was cashed for 980gns.
Top Price on the day was 1520gns this was for a homebred shearling brought out for sale again by Alistair Christie, The Fields 3634/T021 sired by Beeches Wingman 4358/R001 who has bred exceptionally well for the flock and out of a Drummuck ewe 4367/P025, the gavel fell at 1520gns to Michael McCullough, Swatragh.
Female champion was awarded to Elaine & Sam McGarel, Hickeys Brae with a home bred ewe lamb sired by Tievebuaile Farm 3920/T004 out of a homebred ewe 4297/P014 she was sold for 370gns.
