Neil Donnan from Newton Stewart was the man who took on the judging duties this year, and he found his champion in the first section of the Judging with an eye catching, powerful home bred shearling ram from the pen of Robert McTurk, Barlaes, 2217/S006 sired by Manesty 4332/P001 which Robert purchased as a lamb out of the Carlisle sale in October 2021 for £5000 and has bred very well within the flock.  The Judge stood by his choice and took home his champion for £2700.00

Reserve Champion was awarded to the first prize ram lamb 5067/T001 from Burnfoot Farm, Ulzieside, sired by a homebred sire Ulzieside N002 out of a home bred ewe 5067/R002 sired by Farden 1493/P002,  James Nisbet was the successful bidder for this one taking him home to Ayrshire to join the Nisbets flock for £2400.00

The Finniness pen of Robert & Fiona McKie, regular consignors at this sale took top price on the day with their first offering in the ring homebred shearling ram 2554/S001 sired by Nunscleugh 408/M001  out of a homebred dam 2554/M016 he was cashed at £3200.00 selling to Messrs Walker, Drumbuie

Mrs S Hamilton, Cairn Smiddy had a successful day with the first of her pen, a homebred shearling 2637/S001 sired by Wythop Hall,  second in was another homebred shearling 2637/S006 sired by Happrew 4370/K002 both out of home bred ewes selling for £2200.00 each to Messrs Walker, Drumbuie

G & M McMillan, O.B flock enjoyed a successful sale with their homebred shearling ram 2401/S001 sired by Farden 1493/P007 with breeding going back to Temain, Farden and Macqueston was cashed for £2200.00 selling to Messrs Lockhart, Culdoach
