This years sale saw an increased entry of 50 Registered Bluefaced Leicesters with a catalogued entry of 20 Shearling Rams, 6 Ram Lambs and 24 females.  This included a Major Reduction of the Court Green Flock on behalf of Mrs D E Crane. With a healthy ring of buyers keen to bid for the lots on offer,  this resulted in an average of £474.24 a small increase compared to last year’s sale

The pre sale show this year was ably judged by Barnard Castle member Mrs Susan Addison from the Hayberries flock who was taking on the role of Judge at an Association Sale for the first time.

After careful consideration Susan found her overall champion in the shearling ram pen of Messrs T L Forster & Son, Lowes Fell based locally at Hexham, Northumberland.  He was a home bred ram Lowes Fell 50/P015, sired by Whinnyhall 4369/K001 out of a homebred ewe Lowes Fell 50/K024, he was later sold for £1200, the top price on the day.

Reserve Overall Champion was awarded to the female champion, this one was from Mrs D E Crane, Court Green, this was a Ewe 233/L037 bred by Messrs Hewson of Parton 233/L037, it was sired by Towdypotts 4171/H008 out of Parton 233/G029. She was later sold for £420.

Messrs T L Forster & Son, Lowes Fell also sold a shearling to £1100.  He was 50/P009 sired by Parton 233/N006 and out of a homebred ewe 50/L025.  Lowes Fell sold another three of their homebred rams for £1000.
